Baby Quilting
A lovely friend of mine was expecting her first child this fall, and I was happy to help with a lovely baby quilt. She loves bright and modern designs, she is an artist and photographer, and the kind to love quirky animals, and of course the ocean.
I chose the Kissing Fish Quilt. A free pattern from Craftsy.com that is full of Half-Square-Triangles arranged to create a kissing fish pattern. I love that the pattern is embedded within the quilt as a whole, and not really a main focus. The front is a bit of Cotton and Steel and some Lizzy House mice with a bright Cotton and Steele Butterfly on the back.
I chose not to quilt this quilt, but instead knot it, for that soft wrinkly look. I love baby quilts that feel like they are not too "special" but instead a cozy piece of a kid's life. I like how this kept the back pattern intact.
