Love Blooms in Australia
I am writing this post in anticipation of a certain couple's nuptials in a couple of weeks. Through wild adventures and international jaunts, Lacee and I became great friends. I happened to be traveling with her when she met the love of her life Dave and so the story goes ... the lived happily ever after.
Their wedding date is set for the first weekend in October marking the fifth anniversary of the day they met, one dusty morning in Darwin Northern Territory in Australia. Lacee claims it wasn't love at first sight, but I disagree, I saw sparks fly.
I am currently reminiscing back to 2009 when we made our grand adventure to Oz and our wonderful conkiki bus driver, the now groom. I realized the only digital photo I have of dave that I took is this one above with our tour guide in monster masks.
Cheers to the contiki friends we made for life, to the time we almost ran out of gas in the gold coast in the middle of nowhere, to the walrus, to getting pulled over by multiple australian cops and even getting asked if they taught us to drive in the US, to learning what "light" beer in australia meant, and the many more memories that will last forever.
I am excited to see all that are heading out to San Fran in a couple of weeks, and will miss those who can't travel across oceans to get there. For me, this will be the first time I will see ANY of these lovely people in the US, from meeting Lacee in Italy, to crazy adventures in Paris, and then our journey to Australia, she remains to this day to be one of my great lifetime friends, and yet we have only been together in Europe and Australia. To partying in the US of A. See you in a few weeks!
